A small, underused attic space was transformed into a dreamy, functional bedroom for a little girl, complete with a custom bunk bed, clever storage, and soft pastel colors that spark imagination.
Before Remodel
The attic was dark, cluttered, and lacked personality. Sloped ceilings made it feel cramped, and there was no proper furniture or storage. It was simply an extra storage room with no charm or usability for a child.
Our Design Choices
-
Installed a custom-built bunk bed with integrated stairs, storage drawers underneath, and built-in shelves for toys and books.
-
Painted walls in soft lavender and white for a calming yet playful atmosphere.
-
Added tall white built-in shelving units with open and closed storage to maximize space.
-
Created a cozy reading nook with a plush chair, lamp, and decorative wall art.
-
Used a patterned area rug in purple and pink tones to define space and add warmth.
-
Incorporated fun accents like gold side tables, floral wall decals, and a mix of pillows and plush toys.
-
Maximized natural light with larger windows and bright, reflective finishes.
-
Added soft lighting with wall sconces and a bedside lamp for bedtime reading.
The Transformed Room
The bedroom is now a magical, organized haven. The custom bunk bed saves space while providing a fun sleeping arrangement, plenty of storage keeps everything tidy, and soft colors and playful details make it a perfect place for a child to grow, play, and dream.
