Modern Heritage Home Refresh

This house renovation project focused on transforming a small, outdated kitchen and several adjoining living spaces into a bright, cohesive, and elevated interior. The goal was to preserve the charm of the house while introducing modern functionality, refined textures, and a clean, timeless aesthetic. By rethinking the layout, enhancing architectural details, and applying a harmonious neutral palette, the home now feels more open, elegant, and beautifully connected.

What We Renovated

1. Kitchen Transformation

The original kitchen was closed-in and visually heavy, with dated cabinetry, dark materials, and inefficient storage. We completely reimagined the space by:

• Replacing all cabinets with crisp white shaker-style millwork.

• Adding a slim mosaic tile backsplash for subtle texture.

• Upgrading all appliances to stainless steel for a cohesive, modern look.

• Installing new countertops and an undermount sink to create a seamless workspace.

• Refreshing lighting and hardware with minimal, contemporary finishes.

The result is a bright, functional kitchen that feels significantly larger and more welcoming.

2. Architectural Enhancements

To tie the spaces together, we added elevated architectural detailing throughout the home:

• Custom wall moulding and paneling in hallways and living areas.

• Updated baseboards, trim, and crown moulding for a more tailored visual flow.

• New interior doors with modern profiles and matching hardware.

These elements instantly lifted the character of the home without changing its structure.

3. Dining Area Update

The small dining zone was redesigned to feel airy and refined:

• A round pedestal table was introduced to maximize space.

• Cane and wood dining chairs bring warmth and organic texture.

• Soft decorative elements—florals, books, and sculptural pieces—add personality without clutter.

4. Living Room & Fireplace Refresh

The living room received a complete styling overhaul, anchored by the fireplace transformation:

• The existing fireplace was cleaned and repainted in matte black for contrast and sophistication.

• A thin-edged brass mirror above the mantel expands the room visually.

• The mantel and surrounding shelves were styled with a curated mix of art, candles, and decorative objects.

• A blue velvet accent chair, neutral rug, and soft textiles bring luxury and comfort.

This space now feels intentional, warm, and thoughtfully composed.
