This renovation transformed a dated, dark kitchen-dining space into a bright, clean, and modern interior with refreshed cabinetry, upgraded surfaces, and a more cohesive, open feel.
What We Did
-
Updated Cabinetry & Layout Refresh
The original honey-oak cabinets with heavy molding were completely refinished in fresh modern colors — white for the perimeter and a soft grey-green for the island and bar area — creating a lighter, more contemporary look without changing the core layout. -
New Quartz Countertops
Dark laminate counters were replaced with bright white quartz featuring subtle veining, instantly elevating the space and adding a clean, high-end feel. -
Modern Hardware Upgrade
Outdated brass knobs and handles were switched to sleek matte-black pulls, giving the cabinetry sharper lines and a unified modern style. -
Refreshed Island
The previously plain wooden island was repainted and paired with new quartz, turning it into a polished functional centerpiece that anchors the room. -
New Appliances
Older mixed-finish appliances were replaced with a coordinated set of black modern units, improving both appearance and everyday usability. -
Repainted Walls & Brighter Color Palette
Warm beige walls and checkered wallpaper were replaced with clean white paint, helping open up the room and reflect light more effectively. -
Flooring Enhancement
The old tile floors with heavy patterning were upgraded to a warm wood-look floor, giving the space a smoother flow and a more welcoming aesthetic. -
Improved Lighting
The space now uses bright recessed LED lighting that replaces the dated ceiling fan as the primary light source, creating a more streamlined and modern ceiling line. -
Bar / Beverage Area Upgrade
The small corner counter with mismatched items was fully redesigned with matching cabinetry, new countertops, and modern storage, making it functional and visually cohesive with the rest of the kitchen.
