This project reimagines an attic space as a calm, flexible children’s room designed to grow with its users. Soft neutral tones, clean architectural lines, and carefully considered lighting create a bright, comfortable environment that supports play, learning, and rest. The design respects the unique sloped ceiling geometry while maximizing usable space and visual openness.
What We Did
-
Attic Space Optimization
Adapted the room layout to fully embrace the sloped ceilings, transforming architectural constraints into a defining design feature while preserving generous open floor space for play and movement. -
Built-In Storage Integration
Installed discreet built-in storage behind flush panels to maintain a clean visual appearance while providing practical solutions for toys, books, and seasonal items. -
Soft Neutral Color Palette
Applied warm white and light beige tones throughout the walls and ceiling to enhance natural light, visually enlarge the space, and create a soothing atmosphere suitable for children. -
Natural Carpet Flooring
Introduced a soft, textured carpet flooring that adds warmth, improves acoustic comfort, and provides a safe, comfortable surface for everyday activities. -
Roof Window Enhancement
Utilized existing roof windows to bring in abundant daylight, ensuring balanced natural illumination and maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors. -
Integrated Ceiling Lighting
Installed recessed ceiling spotlights to provide even, glare-free illumination that supports both daytime play and evening routines. -
Mirror Wall Installation
Added a full-height mirrored wall section to visually expand the room, reflect natural light, and introduce an element of playfulness while remaining functional. -
Future-Proof Room Design
Designed the space with flexibility in mind, allowing it to easily transition from a children’s room into a study, guest room, or creative space as needs evolve.
