For this family room and home theater renovation, our team completed a full transformation that turned an unfinished basement area into a modern, functional, and comfortable entertainment space. The project included new finishes, custom built-ins, upgraded lighting, and a thoughtfully designed layout suitable for both relaxation and hosting guests.

Renovation Details

Wall Finishing & Decorative Panels
All walls were repaired, leveled, and finished with decorative wall paneling for a clean, architectural look. The panels were painted in a dark matte tone to enhance depth, reduce screen glare, and create a cohesive home theater atmosphere.

Ceiling Construction & Lighting
A multi-level ceiling design was constructed and finished with recessed LED lighting. Perimeter LED strip lighting and recessed ceiling lights were installed to provide layered, adjustable illumination throughout the space.

Electrical & Lighting Upgrades
Electrical wiring was updated to support the home theater system, ceiling lighting, wall sconces, and bar area. New outlets and switches were installed to accommodate entertainment equipment and everyday use.

Home Theater Installation
A wall-mounted projection screen and ceiling-mounted projector were installed and integrated into the room layout. Audio and video components were concealed within custom cabinetry for a clean, uncluttered appearance.

Custom Built-Ins & Storage
Custom cabinetry was built beneath the screen and along the bar area to provide storage for electronics, accessories, and household items. All built-ins were finished to match the wall color for a seamless, unified design.

Bar Area & Structural Column Finishing
A fixed bar-height counter was installed with seating for guests, creating a functional social area adjacent to the theater space. The existing structural column was finished with matching panel details to blend seamlessly into the overall design.

New Flooring Installation
The existing flooring was removed and replaced with modern plank-style flooring featuring a natural wood appearance. The new floor adds warmth to the space while maintaining durability and ease of maintenance.

Seating & Space Layout
The room was furnished with a modular sectional sofa and bar stools to provide flexible seating options. The layout was designed to ensure clear sightlines to the screen from all seating positions.

Final Touches & Project Completion
Final work included paint touch-ups, lighting adjustments, equipment testing, and cleanup. The completed space delivers a modern, polished family room designed for entertainment, comfort, and everyday enjoyment.
