In this project, our team worked with the existing architectural character and enhanced it through thoughtful material choices, color accents, and carefully selected details. The interior feels warm and lived-in, yet structured and intentional, balancing functionality with a strong sense of place.
Natural light, classic proportions, and handcrafted textures define the atmosphere. Rather than over-designing the space, we focused on composition, rhythm, and honest materials that work together to create a calm but expressive home.
Key Elements of the Interior
-
Dining Area with Patterned Tile Flooring
The dining zone is centered around a round wooden table, encouraging a sense of gathering and movement. The patterned floor tiles define this area visually, adding graphic interest and referencing traditional Mediterranean motifs without overwhelming the space. -
Green-Framed Windows and Doors
We emphasized the original window and door frames by painting them in a deep green tone. This color anchors the interior, connects visually with the outdoor light, and repeats throughout the apartment to create cohesion. -
Soft Transition Between Living and Dining
The dining area flows naturally into the living space. A warm-toned sofa and minimal furnishings allow the architecture and floor patterns to remain the main visual elements, maintaining openness and comfort. -
Arched Opening as an Architectural Accent
An arched passage introduces softness and rhythm to the layout. We treated it as a focal point by framing it with artwork and warm lighting, turning a simple transition into a memorable architectural moment. -
Kitchen with Classic Geometry
The kitchen combines glossy white cabinetry with deep green square tiles used as a backsplash. This contrast keeps the space fresh and timeless, while the L-shaped layout ensures efficient workflow and clear organization. -
Flooring as a Zoning Tool
Different tile patterns were used to subtly define functions across the apartment. From geometric motifs in circulation areas to checkered tiles in the kitchen, the floors guide movement and add layers of visual texture. -
Decorative Details and Art
Artwork, ceramics, and natural elements were selected to complement the architecture rather than dominate it. Each piece adds personality and warmth, reinforcing the handcrafted, human scale of the interior.
The result is an interior that feels grounded, authentic, and cohesive. By combining classic forms, restrained color accents, and tactile materials, we created a space that is both practical for everyday living and rich in atmosphere — a home that reflects calm, character, and thoughtful design.
