This project focused on transforming a dark, underused upper-floor bedroom into a bright, calming retreat filled with natural light. The original space felt closed-off and heavy, with limited daylight, dated finishes, and no clear sense of purpose. Our goal was to create a warm, airy bedroom that feels spacious, restful, and beautifully cohesive.
Before
The bedroom had:

We completely reimagined the room into a serene, modern sanctuary:
1. Added Skylights to Transform the Light
The biggest change came from integrating VELUX skylights, dramatically increasing natural light and turning the once-dim attic-style room into an uplifting, sun-filled space. The daylight now highlights every corner and makes the room feel substantially larger.
2. Bright, Soft Color Palette
Warm whites and soft neutrals were chosen to amplify brightness and create a calm, airy atmosphere. These tones bounce light beautifully and bring a sense of quiet elegance to the room.
3. Furniture Layout Reimagined
We reorganized the floor plan to maximize functionality:

The bed was repositioned to create balance and symmetry.

A cozy seating area was added to take advantage of the natural light near the skylights.

Storage elements were streamlined to maintain visual calm.
4. New Textures & Materials
We layered textures to create depth without overwhelming the space:

These materials warm up the room while keeping the design modern and minimal.
5. Architectural Details Refined
We enhanced the sloped ceiling rather than hiding it. Clean lines, simplified trim, and thoughtful proportions turned the once awkward angles into a design feature.

With new lighting, curated décor, and a harmonious palette, the bedroom now feels:
